What a mobile mechanic can't do
We won't pretend a job can be done on the ground when it can't. A few things genuinely require a shop — and we'd rather tell you that before you pay us than after.
- Anything that needs a two-post lift or a full alignment rack — major transmission pulls, engine swaps, four-wheel alignments.
- Tire mounting and balancing — that requires a tire machine and a balancer, which don't travel.
- Machine work on rotors or cylinder heads — we carry new rotors instead, but we can't turn old ones on site.
- Rhode Island state safety and emissions inspections — those can only be performed at a state-licensed inspection station. We repair the items that would cause a failure; we don't issue the sticker.
If your job falls into one of those buckets, we'll say so on the phone and point you toward the right shop. You're out nothing but the call.
